Anne Arundel County Police officers were called at approximately 9:15 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25 to the Greene Turtle sports bar on Solomons road where they encountered a "disorderly" Gabriel James Tyler.
Tyler had reportedly been involved in a fight at the bar and had been asked to leave, but refused, police say. When officers arrived, they attempted to escort Tyler out of the bar when Tyler put one of the officers in a "chokehold."
During the struggle, Tyler and the officer fell to the floor before the latter was able to break free.
The officer then pulled out a Taser device, which forced Tyler to comply with the orders. Tyler was then arrested and charged accordingly.
The officer was treated at an area hospital for a minor injury.
